Chilcotin Heart of BC

Nemiah Valley, BC

Getting to Nemiah’s wilderness is a travel adventure like no other, filled with the best of BC - spectacular mountains, canyons, grasslands, rivers and lakes.

You will think you have travelled to several countries in the span of a day.

The adventure to NEMIAH Valley Lodge

The Lodge is a 2 ½ hour drive southwest of Williams Lake Airport, or 30 minute floatplane ride from Whistler Resort, with the journey ending in Xeni Gwet’in lands, the only area acknowledged by the Supreme Court of Canada as having Indigenous Title.

Some quick facts to get here safely:

  • Vancouver to Nemiah is a day-drive (depending on the route), but you’ll want to plan to have breaks along the way as it’s at least 7 hours.

  • The last 95 km is on a gravel road so low clearance vehicles are not recommended. Ask us about our Lodge transfers.

  • Scheduled airplane service to Williams Lake (YWL) is available throughout the summer from Vancouver International (YVR). We can pick you up from there on our Lodge transfer.

  • Charter a float plane from Vancouver Airport, downtown Vancouver or direct from Whistler straight to our private dock on Vedan Lake.

In the Heart of BC

Whether you fly or drive, you will see Canada’s southern most intact wilderness eco-system, next to the majestic Tŝ'il?oŝ (Mount Tatlow) Provincial Park, and beside Chilko Lake, the largest high alpine, freshwater lake in Canada.

Sometimes if you are lucky you may see BC’s spectacular wildlife along the way, like wild salmon, black bears, mountain goats and the wild horses of Nemiah!
